We all think that women are more affectionate than men. But is it true? In this lecture, Supreme Master Ching Hai talks about men’s affection, revealing the more affectionate aspect of the male. Supreme Master pointed out that men have more affectionate feeling. It’s just that they do not speak out but  keep it deeply and concentrated inside. Men’s love is not as bustling as that of women’s, who would overstate  it even if it’s just a little love. The love of a man is very steady and common; even he himself would not recognize it. Because it was there naturally, he would not feel proud  about it. Men’s love is very close to the Buddha's love with the sacrificing spirit. When we love someone we would just like to make him/her happy. Whatever we do is to make her/him happy. This means they have the spirit of sacrificing for others. No wonder men’s spiritual practice is better and most  enlightened Masters are men.

However,  not many men  practice spiritually, which might be because they are too responsible. They may think they should work and take care of their families, parents and brothers and sisters, etc. Then, they forget that it is more important to take care of them spiritually. Even if we could give our parents and brothers and sisters billions of dollars or a lot of property, it is not as good to them as  our one-day spiritual practice . The best thing is to take care of their spiritual aspect. As long as we practice spiritually, they will all be benefited. Even their material aspects would also be taken care of by the heaven because of our merit. That’s why there is the saying, “When one person is enlightened, his/her nine generations would be uplifted to heavens.”
