- Summary
We all think God is the most loving and very sweet and takes good care of us. This is true, but God has many facets. Of course when you reach the fourth or fifth level, you will always encounter the representative of the good God. He is also one part of God, just like us. We are also a part of God. We have all God qualities within us , but since we have our individual frames, we look like a part. It’s both correct to say that we are a part of the universe or we have the whole inside.
Everyday meditation seems to have not made up anything for us, but perhaps it has saved us a lot of troubles. Just think how painful it was when we didn’t meditate before. We have forgotten how hard and dreary life was . Now we meditate every day, it seems that those situations have disappeared . It’s just like we often went to see the dentist before because we didn’t brush our teeth; now we brush our teeth every day, and forget that we do not need to see the dentist any more.
So it’s just like our spiritual practice. When we follow a Buddha, we should learn from the saints to be compassionate and do not even want to hurt any small animal. It’s not because they are afraid of creating karma, but it’s their habit of not wanting to hurt any sentient being. If we practice well and nurture that habit, we can also change to have that habit through training. That habit does not come from the soul, because the soul has no distinction between good or bad, kind or evil. Instead, it comes from our mind, which learns how to react in this world and how to collect the good and avoid the bad. Our mind takes record of a lot of materials that are put into it. So what it sends out depends on what we put in. This is called Karma.
