Only when the situation arises will we understand that animals know how to love, and that the way they love is extremely noble, sincere, and touching.

Love doesn't necessarily mean sacrificing our lives for our loved ones, but animals are often willing to die for those they love. For example, Hero, one of the Supreme Master’s recently adopted dogs, suffered and sacrificed his life for his family. It’s deeply touching that the Supreme Master promised him she would care for his mother and siblings for the rest of their lives.

During her talk the Supreme Master discusses animals’ heartfelt love and noble qualities, saying that by contrast humans’ love for others is not always unconditional. For example, we love our parents because they give birth to us and raise us. We love our teachers because they teach us how to tell right from wrong, good from evil. We love our friends because they cheer us up by allowing us to chat with them. Two people in a relationship love each other when they first fall in love. But when circumstances change, will their love last? It’s easy to declare that we "love" someone, but love and unconditional devotion are different.

2. Animals have deeper feelings than humans do. Master explains why some animals refuse to eat or drink when their caregivers are away.
3. Master's recently adopted dogs all have names given by Heaven according to their distinctive character traits. The heavenly name of one of the dogs is "Love" because he really loves people, and her adopted mother dog's heavenly name means "courage." Another puppy’s name means "power" since he had the power to bear the bad karma of his whole family, while the deceased puppy "Hero" was a true hero. His sacrifice was meant to arouse people’s awareness about the wretched situation of his family and that of the other stray dogs on the golf course near where Master was staying.

5. While the stray mother dog and her puppies displayed their brave, devoted, and sacrificing natures, will humans who declare their love for Master give up everything to support her when she needs help?
6. Though Master was extremely busy with work on many fronts, she still wholeheartedly cared for the stray dogs day and night. This unconditional love and devotion touched a local vet so deeply that he became active in helping to solve his area’s stray-dog problem.
7. Spiritual practitioners have no excuse for violating others’ privacy. Such behavior reflects not love but possessiveness. Master cites several incidents to remind disciples not to be obsessed with her physical presence and blessing power. Practitioners should be noble in their manners and learn to respect others.
8. It's easy to get initiated, but difficult to remain on the path. In the past, when Master preached openly, everyone requested initiation was accepted, and many only sought material blessings. However, the goal of spiritual practice should not be worldly gain.
