Summary
Highlights:
Bhagavad Gita tells a story about Arjuna, a practitioner and general, who fell into a dilemma between the principle of Ahimsa (non-violence) and the responsibility of a warrior on a battlefield. God enlightened Arjuna through inner experiences that everything is arranged by God, and he should fight the enemies and fulfill his responsibility as a warrior. But why was he still unable to escape the reprimand of his own conscience?
Supreme Master Ching Hai explains: Though Arjuna has already seen the inner Master, his level was not yet that high, so he still felt he had responsibilities and therefore should suffer the consequences thereafter. When we feel that we have responsibilities, then we are truly fulfilling our responsibilities. That’s so called ‘all things are created by the mind ’. However, it’s hard for us to avoid feeling this way, because we can’t get rid of our own preconceived ideas. That’s why we need to practice spiritually.
