Highlight:

What is soul mate? Is our wife or husband now our soul mate? Supreme Master Ching Hai reveals that there's no husband or wife at all. We are all bound together by karma. Our husband in this life will not necessarily be our husband up there; perhaps our real husband who truly makes up the other half of Yin and Yang with us is already  up there. It’s not that we will unite into one when we go to heaven. We can turn into two same persons, like twins. He will share whatever qualities you have. The Bible says God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man. This is a kind of metaphor, which actually means that we are divided into two by Yin and Yang. The two are both ourselves. Then the two come together in peace; after many life times’ spiritual practice and countless exchanges, we will meet each other in heaven.

The marriage in this mundane world is not eternal. Sometimes, our wife or husband is our true mate, but that is rare. Because we have been divided for too long life after life and become two, it becomes difficult for us to join again for spiritual practice. It is no big deal if a couple do not practice together. They will be separated after tens of years, or a dozen of years, or even tomorrow, because we are living in such an ephemeral world. Our true husband or wife is only related  to  the souls and spiritual practice, having nothing to do with this body. There is no physical relationships at all up there, or any need of this kind; though we are two, there's only one; one but two, able to be separated while sharing the same quality,  , right and virtue.
