  • Summary

Through one of Sakyamuni Buddha’s past life story that he worshipped a hungry ghost as his teacher, Supreme Master Ching Hai reminded us that we must be humble so that we can see the Truth. If we clean our heart, be sincere and humble, then a lot of our karma will be eliminated.  If we don’t have a humble heart, it would be more difficult to seek truth, and there will be all kinds of obstacles.

Referring to Lotus Sutra, Master pointed out that the religious groups should live in harmony. No matter what religion we believe, we still have a citizen’s responsibility to protect the country's harmonious atmosphere and blessings. We should not fight against each other all day long like cockfighting and lose a practitioner’s demeanor. If we still have hatred in heart, then we are not a good believer and we have not yet learned our religion's teachings well. We need to take care of our own sincerity towards the Dao. Just take care of our own practice and be more humble and open minded, only then can Buddha communicate with us.

No matter what religion we believe, it would be enough to just believe in our own religion and put our religion’s teachings into daily practice.  Because we don’t practice it, we’ll look at only others good and bad things. If we look at ourselves and see enough bad things within ourselves, then we would not dare to look at other people. If we found ourselves are already very good, then we should not think of others badness, as we ourselves are good and we should think everyone is good as well.  All is created by our mind.
