Most people don’t reject spiritual practice, but they are just rather weak-hearted and easy to be influenced. They dare not make their own decisions because they are used to others' influences since childhood. They seldom have their own opinions or they follow the Sutra blindly without understanding at all. That’s why they come back life after life and endure many sufferings. Supreme Master Qing Hai points out that the scriptures are spiritual teachings while meditation is real practice. They both are important. Therefore, you can read or recite the Sutras, but you should know what Buddha did and advised. The Diamond Sutra talks about the Six Perfections – Charity, Precepts, Tolerance, Diligence, Meditation and Wisdom; if we can’t achieve these six perfections. It means that we are not yet true Buddhists. If everyone try their best to achieve the Six Perfections, it would be enough to have just one Diamond Sutra. But most of the time we read it without putting it into practice.
After practicing the Quan Yin Method, we have only one language through which we become easily communicated; we have one common ideal and the same spirit of serving others, and we serve the sentient beings together. Wherever Master goes lecturing, or s invited to give lectures, everybody join hands willingly without too much talking, everyone knows how to do it and works as if we are one. In fact, that’s because they are enlightened inside and their wisdom keeps developing. Thus they know how to make it right.
